Christmas Tree Lighting @ G Hotel Penang

Henry Tan | 5:45 PM | |
HOHOHO! Christmas is coming real soon! Darling and I attended the annual event of Christmas Tree Lighting at G Hotel Gurney Lobby. The charity program of "A Time to Give", whereby it aims to aid the 30 children from the Salvation Army Children's Home, was launched at the same time too. The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony was opened to all the hotel guests and public.

A short welcoming speech by Mr Kevin Cheah, Executive Assistant Manager of Sales & Marketing of G Hotel, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree. The 20 foot tall Christmas Tree sits at the center of the lobby, decorated with handmade ornaments and light star which create the joyful feeling!

After the lighting ceremony, the 14th Penang Company Carolers of the Boys' Brigade sung the Christmas carols which warm the heart of many and bring everyone into the festive mood!

Besides the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, another meaningful charity program would be the "A Time to Give". The children from the home were queuing to hang their wish cards on the dedicated Christmas Tree which located at the corner of the lobby. Their wish were written on the card along with their name so that if anybody would want to be their Santa!

So all you need to do is to pick up any of the card and fulfill their wish by placing the gift under the Christmas Tree before 17th December 2015. There are over 90 wish cards whereby each of the children will receive three gifts. Like the program name, Christmas is a good time to give back to the society because they deserved to have a wonderful and memorable Christmas too!

You can be their Santa too!

Later on, we moved to 2PM Lounge at G Hotel Kelawai to celebrate Christmas and indulge in the festive refreshment. Free flow of light refreshment such as the fabulously rich Eggnog, freshly baked Christmas cookies, delicate Christmas fruit cake and even drinks like beer and wine.

Well December is always my favorite month because it is the end of the year and of course it is my birthday too! But most importantly, December is always about love and gratitude. Be thankful for everything that happened throughout the year, for all the people that came in to my life, as well as for many greater things to come in future! Not forgetting to give back to others too because...

Merry Christmas in Advance!
