Ton Ma Yom Thai Food Restaurant @ 5D4N Krabi Trip 2016

Henry Tan | 12:21 PM | | |
If there's one place to go for dinner in Krabi, it has to be Ton Ma Yom Thai Food Restaurant! As usual, you know I would done all my research beforehand. According to my research all over the web and after some filtration according to my criteria (price & taste), I found that Ton Ma Yom Thai Food Restaurant is the top destination, even for the locals

After our Krabi 4 Island Tour, we went to Ton Ma Yom Thai Food Restaurant for our dinner at around 6pm. It isn't located right along the main street, but it's quite easy to find if you navigate around with Google Map! Yes in Krabi, I found that Google Map is much better than using Waze.

Ton Ma Yom Thai Food Restaurant is a simple restaurant without any fancy decoration. You can spot them easily with the orange color bunting with their name written on top. As we arrived quite early, there's only a few tables that are occupied. Anyway, they are just a cozy shop with less than 10 tables only.

However, don't be fooled by the appearance of the shop as the food is absolutely mouthwatering! We ordered Spicy Papaya Salad (85 baht) as our appetizer to kickstart our meal. Then followed by 2 main dishes which are under Chef Recommended, namely Tom Yum Koong (120 baht) and Curry with Seafood served in Coconut (135 baht). Then a Fried Rice with Seafood, Pineapple and Indian Curry Powder (80 baht) to fill our empty stomach. For drinks, we tried both Coconut Milk Shake and Mango Shake for 60 baht each.

Papaya Salad was really really spicy that we decided not to finish it before it burns our stomach! Tom Yum Koong and Curry with Seafood caught our attention the most as Ton Ma Yom Thai Food Restaurant was generous in ingredients, prawns were big and scrumptious, squid, fish and mushrooms! Taste wise, both were really appetizing that we just can't stop eating one after another. I believe both Tom Yum Koong and the Curry added with lot of coconut milk (santan) that makes it creamy and delicious. Fried Rice was equally good too as the Indian curry powder added in extra fragrance!

Maybe our first meal in Krabi at Kdai 69 Halal Food was not impressive, so relatively, Ton Ma Yom Thai Food Restaurant quickly became our favorite. Service wise, the food was being served fast too (within 10 minutes) and they are very friendly as well. (I conclude that most of Thai are friendly, Malaysian should learn!) Our total bill for two persons is 540 baht, which is consider quite reasonable! Baby and I both agree that this has to be our top recommended dining place!

  2. Everyone loves Thai food. However, most of their dishes are spicy but I've no complain at all. I just love spicy food and love their curry. If you really want to taste most of their native dishes try them on street market specially Thailand. But, if you happen to go to Indian and Thai restaurants in Thailand you can check out some of my recommendations of the Indian Restaurant in koh samui
