Day 2 @ 3D2N Langkawi Trip

Henry Tan | 6:59 PM | |
Here's the Day 2 of our 3D2N Langkawi Trip so long after I posted on Day 1, hopefully I still can remember most of the trip details. ๐Ÿ˜… As you may know from my Day 1 post, we stayed in The Smith House hotel which is located in Padang Matsirat.

Our 2 nights stay in The Smith House hotel inclusive of breakfast buffet for two, so we woke up early in the morning to enjoy our breakfast at their indoor restaurant, The Absolut. Nothing fancy, but just real hearty breakfast from a wide selection which features both local and international delicacies. ๐Ÿ˜‹

As a foodie myself, I rarely take the breakfast provided by hotel during vacation as I would prefer to go source around for local food or the so called "jalan-jalan cari makan". But since Langkawi is mainly famous for the seafood, so I didn't bother to try the local breakfast which probably same as Penang.

After the breakfast at hotel, we headed north to our first destination. Since we rented a car so we decided to just go around, literally, the whole Langkawi Island in clock wise. So up north tourism spot is no other than the Langkawi Cable Car (a.k.a Langkawi Sky Cab) and Langkawi Sky Bridge.

It was our first time visiting the Langkawi Sky Bridge as all the previous visits were either closed due to bad weather or under maintenance. We got ourselves the Basic Package with Malaysian IC at RM40 (adult) and RM30 (child), which inclusive of Sky Cab, Sky Dome, Sky Rex and 3D Art Museum. Thankfully we were early, so there wasn't many people to queue.

***Tips: Go early in the morning to avoid hot weather and long queue!***

The Langkawi Cable Car / Sky Cab get us to the top of the mountain for great scenery. But in order to get to the Langkawi Sky Bridge, there is another Langkawi SkyGlide that we need to pay separately  RM15 (adult) and RM10 (child) at the Top Station. Worth it or not? First time probably yes, but certainly not for the second time! ๐Ÿ˜’

Since our ticket also inclusive of the 3D Museum, so we dropped by just to have a look. Yes you can tell that we are not so into 3D Museum, we never even visit the 3D Museum in Penang! But it was almost noon and the hot scorching sun was torturing us, so killing time inside the air-conditional museum would not be a bad idea. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

The timing for the other two Sky Dome and Sky Rex were not good for us so we didn't bother to go either. After the 3D Museum we left the place and continue our round island journey in clockwise. So up next, the famous Black Sand Beach, right up north of Langkawi island.

It was around 1pm which is still hot outside so we didn't plan to stay long but rather just to "check in" and take some photos. More importantly, to let Bae take a look at the black sand since she never been there. The sand were really fine and soft, too bad it was not all black like how one would imagine.

After that we continue the round island journey with our red rented car. Since weather was really hot, so we skipped the hot spring at Ayer Hangat Village. Both bae and I skipped the Mini Zoo Langkawi, Langkawi Wildlife Park and Kilim Geoforest Park. We just want free and easy to go around. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Along the road Jalan Ayer Hangat on the east side of Langkawi island, we saw quite a number of signage towards the temples. So we dropped by Wat Koh Wanaram, a Thai Buddhish temple in Langkawi island. What caught our attention the most is the large white marble Kuan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) statue, overlooking the whole temple area. ๐Ÿ™

Since bae and I both are snake zodiac, so it was quite a surprise to find that the snake statue as one of the statues to pray. Probably there is a story behind, probably the huge snake safe guarding the place or something, in my own made up story. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Nevertheless, we prayed for health, wealth and happiness. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

As we already visited the Eagle Square in Day 1 which located at the south of Langkawi Island, so we skipped directly to Langkawi Parade Mall in Kuah Town. To be honest, there is nothing much in the mall. We had our late lunch at Waroeng Penyet, a traditional Indonesian restaurant inside the mall. I got myself the Ayam Penyet set at RM13.70 while bae got herself Bakso Soup at RM9. ๐Ÿ˜‹

After the late lunch, we went back to hotel for a quick shower then headed out for sunset dinner. Bae and I picked up Agnes, the future pilot, at her hostel near to Padang Matsirat. We headed to the Yellow Cafe located at the popular beach of Langkawi, Pantai Cenang.

We had Spaghetti Carbonara (RM32), Penne Taccihno (RM34) and Special Yellow's Pizza (RM42). We also got ourselves some drinks, sparkling wine, Mojito and milkshake while enjoying the sunset. Food was amazingly delicious and great catch up with Agnes (my ex YE student) too! ๐Ÿ˜„

As the sun set, we walked around Pantai Cenang. We went to Cenang Mall for some shopping as well, particularly chocolate and more booze as it was the last night in Langkawi. Like the Cantonese saying goes "ๆฌขไน็š„ๆ—ถๅ…‰่ฟ‡ๅพ—็‰นๅˆซๅฟซ,ๅˆ็ณปๆ—ถๅ€™่ฎฒๆ‹œๆ‹œ!" We sent Agnes back to her hostel and we headed back to our hotel too. That's all for Day 2, free and easy! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹

Stay tuned to our Day 3 @ 3D2N Langkawi Trip!
