Pick Your Own Strawberries @ Bullsbrook, Western Australia

One of the fun activities to do in Perth is to Pick Your Own Strawberries. Okay, maybe not exactly Perth, but it is located in Bullsbrook which is just 40 minutes away from Perth City. During our Day 2 at Perth Trip, our good friend brought us there to experience!

Pick Your Own Strawberries is the name the company use for their Facebook and also any searches in Google Maps. So literally like the name suggest, we get to pick our own strawberries! Thankfully we went on the right time as the farm closes around early February until middle of August. We went on 1st of September, which is the first day of Spring, spot on!

Since it was on a Saturday and also the reopening of the farm, a high turnout at Pick Your Own Strawberries even early in the morning! We arrived around 9am which is the opening hour of the farm. After parking our car at the roadside, we proceed to the small counter at the entrance.

The entrance fee per person at Pick Your Own Strawberries is $2 and the tray for collecting strawberries is $10. Maximum 5 people allowed to share a tray. Since we were very excited, 5 of us bought 2 trays. For Malaysian like me, we could pick strawberries in Cameron Highland too, but somehow, the moon is rounder abroad. #IfYouKnowWhatIMean πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

We walked down further of the farm with lesser people, in hope of picking bigger and better strawberries. I was amazed by how huge the farm is and how spectacular it looks given the endless rows and rows of strawberries.

To be frank, at first we were enjoying the process of picking the strawberries. But after like 10 - 20 minutes, we started to feel tired and bored while the strawberries we collected fit half of the tray only. Trust me, it's like doing squats repeatedly endlessly while carrying weight. πŸ˜–πŸ˜–πŸ˜–

After 1 full hour, we finally done piling up all the strawberries in our tray. As a frugal person, piling it up as much as possible is important given that we paid $10 + $2 + $2 = $14 x 3 = RM42. We did not measure the weight, but we were being told that it would be around 5kg per tray. In Malaysia, 5kg of Australian strawberries probably would cost RM200. (RM10 per 250g) πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Here comes the funny part, given there were 2 trays for 5 of us, we had to finish all 10kg of strawberries in the following days of our Perth trip. Strawberries Milkshake, Strawberries Salad, Strawberries juice and whatever you name it, we have done it all! We probably not gonna eat strawberries anymore for the rest of 2018. πŸ˜…

Overall I must say this has to be one of the activities to do if you are wondering what to do in Perth. I supposed the season starts from mid of September towards end of January. But to be safe, always remember to check out Pick Your Own Strawberries Facebook Page for their latest update to avoid disappointment! πŸ˜‰
