Day 1 @ 3D2N Langkawi Trip

It has been a long while since my last visit to Langkawi. Since Airasia got cheap flight to Langkawi, baby and I went on a getaway and so here's our first ever 3D2N Langkawi Trip together. As usual, I will split the post to Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3. Enjoy reading! Too lazy to read? No worry, check out the short video at the bottom! 

We took the Monday afternoon flight with AirAsia from Penang International Airport direct to Langkawi International Airport. In fact, this was my first time taking flight to Langkawi as all my previous visits were by ferry. Surprisingly, the flight was full even on weekday, probably because it is the peak season starting from November until April.  

During our 3D2N Langkawi Trip, baby and I spent our 2 nights in The Smith House hotel which is located strategically in Padang Matsirat, nearby to the Langkawi International Airport. I reckon that Padang Matsirat is located in the middle of Langkawi, making it convenient to explore to many point of interest such as Kuah, Pantai Cenang and even the Langkawi Cable Car. 

After arriving at the airport, The Smith House arranged our hotel transfer where we were being fetched to our hotel which is less than 5 minutes away. The Smith House is a new boutique hotel in Langkawi with contemporary interior design. Baby and I were totally amazed and glad that we have chosen this hotel! The next thing to do after checking in was to rent a car. We got ourselves a brand new red Toyota Vios at RM150 for 2 days. We were required to pay RM50 as deposit which is refundable too. If you are interested to rent a car in Langkawi, you can contact Hafiz at 016-4020855. Petrol station is located nearby to our hotel, so we went for refuel too before our exploration begins. 

We went down north to Kuah where we stopped at Langkawi Fair Shopping Mall for McDonald's as our late lunch. We walked around the shopping mall as well as the Billion Duty Free Supermarket which located inside the mall itself. Baby and I just check out all the prices of chocolate and alcohol there that we wanted to buy so that we can take as reference.

Around evening, we dropped by Eagle Square to take some photos since the 12 meter tall eagle statue is like the icon of Langkawi. As usual, full of people right below the eagle and I supposed you can't say you have been to Langkawi without taking a photo with the eagle! 😂 

We went around Kuah Town to do some window shopping for chocolate and alcohol as well. We came across this shop, PL Soon Huat which located along Jalan Pandak Mayah 1, few shops next to RHB Bank! The lady boss was really friendly to chit chat with us and taught us a thing or two about wines. So we ended up buying 3 bottles of wines and 1 bottle of Baileys Irish Cream from her! 😁

After sunset of the Day 1 of 3D2N Langkawi Trip, I brought baby to Teo Seafood Restaurant, the place I ate at for every of my past visits. We were starving by then, so we ordered 5 dishes and 1 fried beehun at a total price of RM73.50. Thankfully, we still managed to finish them all! Maybe we were feeling guilty of the heavy dinner, so we decided to make a turn to Pantai Cenang to do some walking. We parked our rented car at Cenang Mall and went to walk around there. We bought some chocolate inside Cenang Mall as well. Believe it or not, baby and I finally walked 10,000 steps (recorded by our smart phone) in a day for the first time ever during our Day 1! 😂

Since we had surpassed the 10,000 steps a day, we forgiven ourselves for the heavy dinner and headed back to hotel to sleep! To find out more on where we went and what we ate, stay tuned for the Day 2 for our 3D2N Langkawi Trip!
