Calling all fans for roast meats! This is exactly the easiest way to eat all you can at an affordable price. The Prestige Hotel Penang offers a simple buffet with the main theme surrounding the roasted meat. We visited on the Saturday Buffet Dinner so these are all the food available!

Overall, given the price point at RM68+, it is cheaper than other hotel so we can't really expect to have those full spread buffet. But I would say that most of the food are great, especially their main highlight - roasted lamb and chicken. Worth it or not? If you are meat lover like me, then certainly yes!

Sunday Buffet Lunch @ Eastin Hotel Penang

As usual, baby and I started off the Sunday Buffet Lunch with their wide selection of appetizer and soup. Salad bar with dressing and condiment, Kerabu Mango, Acar Jelatah, Jelly Fish with Sesame Salad, Local Jeruk-Jeruk and ulam-ulaman are some of the highlights of Appetizer. Crab Meat with Corn Kernel Soup and Sup Soto Ayam with Chilli Sambal are available too.

We tried a little of everything, including the Miang Kham which is the traditional appetizer from Thailand. Chinese styled Tau Kua (beancurd) Sumbat is available too together with the sweet and sour sauce. We took a little bit of sambal belaccan and cencaluk to mix with our western ulam-ulaman - rocket salad/arugula. 😂😂😂

Meanwhile for the main course, Eastin Hotel Penang offers Daging Percik Berempah, Ikan Masak Tempoyak, Sotong Sumbat Ketupat Masak Sambal, Lamb Varural with Green Peas, Stir Fried Kailan with Salted Fish and Fried Garlic, and many more! 

Among all the dishes that we tried, personally, I like Belacan Chicken and Soft Bean Curd with Mapo Sauce. Maybe these are the dishes I always eat growing up. Another special dish that we never try it elsewhere is the Gulai Nangka. It's unusual to see it at any stall, let alone at hotel buffet lunch, so you can tell how traditional the dish is! 

Besides the main course, there are some other dishes at the Action Stall such as Cendol, Mee Sotong, Ikan Bakar Padang, Keropok Lekor and many more. I had my Char Koay Teow which the chef would prepares on the spot and you can see them in action.

Lastly, we had the dessert with variable options such as assorted fruit platter, assorted French pastries, Chinese Pancake, Jelly in Cup, Banana cake, Pandan cake, Kaseri with Raisin Cashew Nut, and many more. Overall, given the affordable price, I think it would be a great family and friend gathering place for lunch on Sunday then maybe followed by movie or Karaoke session at Queensbay Mall.

Canton Buffet Lunch @ Ixora Hotel Penang

Starting from March to April 2018, Ixora Hotel Penang will be offering Canton Buffet Lunch. A total of 6 menus will be rotated every weekday from Monday to Friday even if is a Public Holiday! So if you are looking for a buffet lunch venue, this could be a great option for you!

Ixora Hotel Penang offers a wide selection of food in their Canton Buffet Lunch ranging from soup, salad, Dim Sum, porridge, roasted chicken and duck, hot dishes and even dessert. From the dishes such as Lotus Leaf Steamed Rice, Marinated Salted Bean Duck, Dim Sum and many more, you can tell these are the highlights for Cantonese style of cooking.

Personally, I like the fish soup with green mustard vegetables, which was a hearty clear soup that warms my empty stomach. The sweetness and flavor from the star anise made the Hainanese Beef Stew a delightful dish for me. I like the Fried Mutton with Butter Cream as well! Egg tart was good especially the creamy custard filling but could be even better if is served hot with crispy flaky puff pastry right from the oven! 

Ixora Hotel Penang also introduced their Cocktail and Mocktail of the month which feature Cocktail Wealthy at RM22 nett and Mocktail Healthy at RM18 nett. I tried the Mocktail Healthy which made of red watermelon juice, date juice, lemon juice and garnished with watermelon ball and date fruit. 

Lastly we tried the Cake of the Month by Ixora Hotel Penang, which is a Cendol Cake selling at RM12 nett. I was never a big fan of real cendol, let alone a cendol cake. But surprisingly, it tastes better than I thought, just like the saying, never try never know!
