It was a 2D1N Health & Wellness Retreat at The Lost Paradise Resort. Frankly, I have never come across or even heard about this resort before! What an outdated tour guide right? Well, probably because it is located at the corner of the turning on the road to Batu Ferringhi. *excuse*

Basically the retreat has a mixed of both workshop and some activities. The schedule was not too tight and it was quite relaxing. We started off with self introduction and a ice breaking game. It's great to see people of all ages with high health awareness to learn new things from the professional Naturopaths.

We have three naturopath, Alyssa Ng, Monitar Tan & Jeannie Kwa as our facilitators. Again, you may not heard of naturopath as it is a rare profession in Malaysia, just like financial advisor! =p So here's the definition...
Naturopathy is a philosophy of life and an approach to living.
It is the belief in living a lifestyle as close to nature as possible.
It is a system which focuses on building health and encouraging the body’s self-healing process through holistic health education with the ultimate goal of achieving holistic health and well-being.

Blackmores Health & Wellness Retreat 2015 - DIY Healthy Juice for Detox |
So we started off with the first workshop with "Detox for Good Health & DIY Healthy Snacks and Juices" by Alyssa Ng. Apart from some theories thru presentation slides, we get to learn how to DIY the detox fruit juice too! She demonstrated to us on the proper way of DIY juice mixing and once it was done, we get to try too!

The two DIY healthy juice that we tried are carrot, pineapple & orange juice and apple banana smoothie! The recipes were given to us which includes the procedures and some do & don't. Well, you know you could get all sort of recipes online, but you can't get those tips from experience in making a really good and healthy one!
We tried both and like it very much! I never really like carrot or carrot juice as I could not accept the pungent smell of carrot. So good thing that when it is mixed with pineapple and orange, they managed to mask the carrot smell. Alyssa also shared with us that if we wanted to prolong the freshness of the juice, lemon juice can be added to prevent or slow down the oxidation or so called browning process. Basically, it's like what we learned in science, reduce the reaction rate by keeping in low temperature and reduce the pH of the juice.

In the second workshop which facilitated by Monitar Tan, with the topic of "Addressing Skin Issue & DIY Skin Care Remedies". Again, we get to see some practical example in making of the essential oil and hand lotion. This is definitely useful for those who would like to try it out themselves instead of buying from the stores.

We had our vegetarian lunch which was prepared by the resort with the careful selection of nutrition from Blackmores team. Even the nutrition fact of each dishes were being displayed below each name tag of the food.

After lunch and check in to our room, we continued our third workshop, which is "Exercise for Optimal Health" by Jeannie Kwa. I have to say it was really well planned! You know why? After lunch we always tend to be very sleepy and she gave us some very good examples of light exercise to keep ourselves awake!

Some simple stretching that you could do even at your office! These simple tricks are really useful especially for those office workers that need to sit at their desk from 8 to 5! Now I can use it when I feel sleepy too, trust me, I felt sleepy all the time! >.<

After that, we had another session on "Find your own health treasure", whereby we were given a piece of paper and an hour of time. Within the hour, we were not allowed to speak or do anything else, just think whatever that comes to our mind and draw it out using our left hand. After that hour, all other group members would give their opinion or interpretation based on what they observed from the picture we drawn. Surprisingly, our left hand sold us out by drawing out what our sub-conscious is thinking! >.< LOL

Our room in The Lost Paradise Resort was on the second floor with seaview at the balcony! Consider quite spacious and tidy with Balinese style!

After dinner, we had another workshop - "How to have a good night sleep?" and also the relaxation exercise before sleep. The sharing included the stages of sleep as well as how to make yourself sleep well. Later on, we moved to the field beside the beach to have our outdoor yoga session! It was really relaxing to do yoga with the sound of the waves!

We started our day 2 with yoga as well! Surprisingly, some simple yoga stretching in the morning could made us sweat a lot too. We had a lot of fun as in laughing at those poses that we could not make it at all. My muscles are too stiff!

In our 4th workshop where we had the "Boosting Your Memory Thru Natural Remedies" session. We were given the brain exercise - tongue twister to play! We even had the time challenge to compete with each other! Guess who is the winner? =D

After the fifth workshop - "Massage Your Stress Away with Essential Oil", we had to leave for another function. But thanks to the team, we managed to get a group photo before we left.
