It has been a while since the last time I attended a makan session alone without bae. Nevertheless, I still managed to try a little bit of everything except all with tiny little portion. Main Street Cafe at Cititel Penang has always been a popular place for family gathering given their affordable price and this year is the same too.

As usual, I started off with the soup, appetizers and seafood on ice. Same like their sister hotel, St Giles Wembley Hotel (click here to read), this year Cititel Penang offers Lobster Bisque too! Cream were added on top to give creamier texture to it. If you love lobster, this surely will impressed you.

For the seafood on ice wise, crayfish, scallops, oysters, prawns and mussels are all available. The crayfish were all big in size that it worth the trouble to peel all the shells. Otherwise, imagine how sad you will be after getting thru all the hardship only to find out that the crayfish meat is so small that it is not enough to get stuck in between your teeth (direct translate in hokkien). 😂😂😂

I didn't take any of the sushi as well, except for the sashimi such as salmon, white fish and tuna since there's no way I am letting my stomach stuffed with a lot of the rice! Nothing to shout about as it can never go wrong when they are fresh enough.

For the Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner in Cititel Penang, we were being served with Lobster Thermidor, except this time they are using Slipper Lobster instead of the typical Spiny Lobster. As usual, they taste heavenly with the creamy texture and fragrance of lobster. 😋😋😋

Meanwhile for the main courses, some of the noteworthy ones are Stir Fried Prawns with Milan Sauce, Steak Diane, Chicken Fricassee, as well as the Chinese BBQ Duck. The Lamb Navarin caught my attention too as it was my first time having it. Basically, it is a French stew that packed with vegetables, slow cooked until the meat is tender!

Dessert wise, Cititel Penang offers a wide range of Christmas desserts, which I do not even know where to begin with! Each of them were being well decorated. Trust me, you will want to go slow with food so that you have space in your stomach for each and everyone of them!

Overall, I enjoyed my Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner at Main Street Cafe, Cititel Penang even though bae was not there with me. I got to spend more time talking to friends that we even stayed there until midnight! The environment is comfortable and joyful, where not just us, but a few tables are packed with friends and family celebrating birthday and even just simple gathering!
