Thanks to the invitation from DoubleTree by Hilton Penang, bae and I got to enjoy their Chinese New Year Eve Reunion Dinner. It was only our second visit to DoubleTree right after the Christmas Buffet, so we kind of expected how nicely their food presentation will be. Without surprise, they live up to the expectation by having all the delightfully decorated food. 

We started off with the appetizers which consists of assorted salad as well as Seafood on Ice. For the Seafood on Ice, the chefs from DoubleTree by Hilton Penang creatively crafted an ice blocked with frozen decorations inside. This is probably the best that we have seen so far among all the hotels in Penang! 

For the main dishes, DoubleTree by Hilton Penang offers Wok Fried Cantonese Hor Fan with Assorted Seafood, Deep Fried Prawn with Butter and Chicken Floss, Stir Fried Beef with Black Pepper Sauce, Wok Fried Flower Crab with Kam Heong Sauce, Steamed Eight Treasure Chicken with Oyster Sauce, Fried Glutinous Rice with Baby Abalone in Lotus Leaf, Steamed Fish with Nyonya Sauce, Seafood Treasure in Cabbage Parcel and Green Garden, and lastly, Roasted Duck.

Apart from the main dishes, the hotel also serves some of the Chinese must-have food at the action counters such as Roasted Chicken, Char Siew and Roasted Chicken Wings. Grilled Seafood such as prawns, fish fillets, calamari rings, chicken sausages and lamb chop are all available too! 

Lastly, DoubleTree by Hilton Penang makes sure the guests would go home with a happy stomach by serving all the beautifully decorated dessert. To match the Chinese New Year theme, the pastry chef decorated the dessert with those cute Chinese element such as Mandarin Oranges and flowers.

Overall, given the location at Batu Ferringhi, I would highly recommend to stay a night there and celebrate the Chinese New Year with family and friends! With that, one can enjoy their facilities yet taking a good time to slowly enjoy the food, the environment as well as the festive celebration.

Roasted Lamb and Chicken

Calling all fans for roast meats! This is exactly the easiest way to eat all you can at an affordable price. The Prestige Hotel Penang offers a simple buffet with the main theme surrounding the roasted meat. We visited on the Saturday Buffet Dinner so these are all the food available!

Assorted Salad such as Roasted Zucchini Salad and Potato and Sausages Salad

Overall, given the price point at RM68+, it is cheaper than other hotel so we can't really expect to have those full spread buffet. But I would say that most of the food are great, especially their main highlight - roasted lamb and chicken. Worth it or not? If you are meat lover like me, then certainly yes!

Chinese New Year Course Set @ Hua Hee Restaurant

Chinese New Year is coming! If you prefer to "Jia Tuk" style (course set) instead of buffet, then perhaps can consider Hua Hee Restaurant. Thanks to the invitation from the restaurant, bae and I got to try out their Chinese New Year Course Set 2020. Check out the prices below!

If you read our first review back in 2017, we did enjoyed ourselves with all the delicious food served by the restaurant. So this round we went with high hope to savor on all their good food again. Hua Hee Restaurant served us with the lowest set RM499+ with 7 course meals and 1 dessert, which subject to 10% service charge. 

It is important to note that advance order of 1 day is strongly recommended. For instance, due to some communication issue, the restaurant actually thought that we were going at night, hence, all the dishes were prepared last minute. As a consequence, we didn't get to taste the Steamed Chicken with Cordyceps Flower as it requires many hours to slow cook. So here you go, all the dishes we enjoyed ourselves with:
