All the while, I always went to Royale Chulan Penang for YE Appreciation High Tea at their function room. So it was the first time for bae and I to actually try out their buffet at Sri Tanjung Cafe inside Royale Chulan Penang. We loved the good vibes given the comfy surrounding even though it is a heritage building with colonial architecture and style.

The buffet at Royale Chulan Penang amazed us with their variety of choices, so much so that we do not even know where to start or what to start with! At Salad Bar, there are wide selections too which include mix greens, seafood on ice, assorted cold platter, cheese platter and many more. Among all, Salmon Gravlax with Avocado Salsa attracted me the most! 😋😋😋 

For the carving station, Royale Chulan Penang offers Traditional Roasted Turkey with Mirepoix Sausage and Apricot Stuffing, Roast Beef Wellington with Yorkshire Pudding and Seven Continent Marinated Roast Lamb Crown. Not just one, not just two, but three options from the carving station for you to eat all you can! 👏👏👏

If you read all my previous Christmas Buffet posts, you would know that I am not a big fan of turkey due to the dry texture. But I gotta give credit to the chef as the turkey I had was still juicy where I literally still can see the fats dripping off the turkey thigh. 💦💦💦

Among the three dishes at carving station, I loved the Roasted Lamb Crown the most! Imagine all the extra effort that the chef need to put in in order to string the rack lamb together into a shape of crown then at the end cut lamb between ribs into chops. Best of all, they made it to the right doneness with a stunning glazed. I am starving already just by recalling the dish! 😂😂😂

Then we had the main course which includes Cranberry Mocktail Meatball, Spinach, Mushroom and Cheese Casserole, Four Cheese Sausage Rigatoni, Stir Fry Squid with Ginger and Celery, Grilled Fish Fillet with Lemon Butter Sauce, Prawn and Broccoli Stir Fry, Grilled Lamb Cutlet, Sweet Potato and Pumpkin Gratin and Horseradish Crusted Beef. 

Among all the main courses, we enjoyed their Roasted Duck, Roasted Chicken and Spinach and Cheese Raviolli a lot. Again, I have to say that these dishes are quite rare to find in typical buffet in Penang. So it is always delightful having to taste something new and unique. Oh, meatball was delicious too, reminded me of the ones that I had in IKEA. 😄😄😄

Lastly for dessert, Royale Chulan Penang offers the most options that I have seen so far! All the dessert such as Yule Log, Christmas Pudding, Stollen, Ginger Bread, Christmas Cookies, Poached Apple, Macarons, Lemon Tarlet, Cakes, Mousse and many more, you name it they have it all! 😱

Similarly to the other dishes, Royale Chulan Penang offers some of the rare dessert that I do not see it elsewhere such as the Baked Alaska and the Poached Apple. Besides, the Christmas elements in their dessert are pretty impressive too, particularly the gingerbread cookie with delicate decoration that you would rather keep it than eating it. 😁😁😁

Overall, bae and I had a great night at Royale Chulan Penang. Good environment, great food and friendly people always make it a perfect night to remember. With the early bird discount, RM108 per adult with a party pack, a glass of house wine and such a wide range of food, personally I think it is worth the money!
