Street Art Cafe @ Lebuh China, Penang

Henry Tan | 11:54 PM | |
Hello! I'm back again to blog about Street Art Cafe that I just went last week! Street Art Cafe is located at Lebuh China, which is just right opposite of The Goddess of Mercy Temple (Kuan Yin Temple). Finding a car park at night definitely is not a problem as most of the surrounding shops are closed, especially the 4D Toto right beside of Street Art Cafe.

If you are coming from The Goddess of Mercy Temple, you would see Street Art Cafe on your left. It is quite easy to notice with their signboard and also the rainbow banner of their latest "Thailand Fried Ice Cream". Car parking lots are available on both side of the road. Street Art Cafe is consider quite small among all the other cafes in Penang, so remember to call them up to reserve if you are going for gathering!

Street Art Cafe - Monte Cristo (RM12.90)
Street Art Cafe's Monte Cristo is like egg toast with ham and cheese. Simple and nice for those that are looking for a light meal. Personally, given with that price, I would prefer their Croissant with Scrambled Egg or even their spaghetti as I'm a big eater that need to eat more to be fulfilling!

Street Art Cafe - Tuna Sandwich (RM10.90)
Street Art Cafe is quite generous to stuffed in a lot of tuna, sandwiching in between the toast. I like how the sandwich is toasted to crispy skin but the tuna is not moist enough to compensate the dryness of the toast.

Street Art Cafe - Club Sandwich (RM13.90)
As usual, Club Sandwich usually is the biggest with eggs, cheese, ham and even chicken breast. If you  want to be on the safe side, ordering Club Sandwich will never go wrong

Street Art Cafe - Croissant with Scrambled Egg (RM12.90)
Here comes my favorite among all the sandwiches - Croissant with Scrambled Egg. Croissant with scrambled egg, cheese and ham, taste better than its look

Perhaps I am more fond of moist and easy-swallow type of food. So their Croissant with Scrambled Egg with the melted cheese matched my taste bud perfectly. Comparing price relatively, I would say Croissant with Scrambled Egg is a better choice!

Street Art Cafe - Aglio Olio (RM13.90)
Stir fried spaghetti with ham, mushroom and seafood such as prawns and squid. A little spicy from the black pepper to give the kick to Street Art Cafe's Aglio Olio. The portion is just nice that it left you wanting for more!

Street Art Cafe - Flaming Tuna (RM13.90)
Flaming Tuna literally flaming as it is really spicy with chilli flakes. Don't be fooled by its look of classic tomato-based sauce or the bolognese spaghetti as you would really need water after that! Those who like spicy would definitely love it!

Street Art Cafe - No Name (RM14.90)
No Name is like the signature dish of Street Art Cafe that you should try! Basically it is a combination of Bolognese, Carbonara & Aglio Olio. Thanks to the sweetness of creamy Carbonara sauce and the flavors of seafood Aglio Olio, No Name spaghetti is really appetizing! This has to be my number one choice among all other spaghetti!

Street Art Cafe - Mexican BBQ Chicken (RM12.90)
Chicken is always my favorite, especially the deep fried one. If sandwich is not enough, I would probably order this snack to satisfy my craving! Okay, next - DRINKS!

Street Art Cafe - Mocha (RM9.90)
All of the hot drinks from Street Art Cafe are under RM10, which I think it is quite affordable. They even got the promotion of 2nd coffee at 50% on every Monday!

Street Art Cafe - Dessert in a Jar (RM9.90)
Another specialty of Street Art Cafe would be their Dessert in a Jar. We tried their Oreo and Chocolate. Basically there are 3 layers with the top layer of Oreo or Chocolate, middle layer of cream cheese and bottom layer of crushed biscuit based. The proportion of cream cheese were quite big but surprisingly it doesn't make me feel jelak at all. I prefer Oreo due to the multi-texture of crushed oreo and crushed biscuit sandwiching the smooth and thick cream cheese.

Street Art Cafe - Creme Brulee (RM9.90)
Creme Brulee was okay except the crystallized caramel on the surface was too thin that you barely felt the crispiness of it.

Street Art Cafe - Tiramisu (RM14.90)
Personally, I think the Tiramisu was too moist that the coffee-soaked ladyfingers became too soggy. I know I mentioned earlier that I prefer moist, but this is over-moist! =p

Street Art Cafe - Chocolate Lava (RM6.90)
Lava a bit frozen that it doesn't oozes out! But nevertheless, their chocolate lava could still fix your sweet tooth.

Lastly, we ended our night with their latest Thailand Fried Ice Cream! To be honest, I watched the viral video from Facebook and I have no idea what's the point of "fried" ice cream. Perhaps it's more like a performance or show, rather than contributing to the taste of the ice cream. After I tasted it, I realized that it's the part, where crushing the fruits and mixing into the ice cream, makes the ice cream full of flavors from the fruit
