Christmas buffet at Main Street Cafe, Cititel Penang features a wide range of Christmas delicacies such as Traditional Roasted Turkey with Cranberry and Giblet Sauce, Roast Lamb Leg paired with crusty Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Fresh Seafood on Ice, Sushi and many other main dishes.
Unlike many other Christmas Buffet which serves only turkey, Cititel Penang offers both turkey and lamb, which is good for people like me who is not a big fan of the turkey meat. Compare to turkey which tends to be leaner, I prefer the juiciness and the texture of lamb leg especially when it is roasted well.
Given the cheaper price, the options of Fresh Seafood on Ice are limited to oysters, mussels, prawns and half shell scallop. But if you do not fancy crab like snow crab or slipper lobster, then Christmas buffet at Cititel Penang is more than sufficient! 👍👍👍
As Cititel Penang serves a lot of Japanese tourists, so they put a lot of effort in their sushi spread too. But bae and I only had eyes on the sashimi like Salmon and Tuna. We would not want to stuff our stomach with too much of sushi rice, so we just took the one with Unagi. 😋😋😋
For the main dishes, there are some noteworthy ones such as Oyster Gratin, Salmon Head with Soy Sauce Reduction, Beef Teriyaki, Yaki Tori, Wok Fried Prawns with Salted Egg, Chicken Katsu and many more. I noticed that most of the dishes are Japanese style which could be understood as Cititel Penang is the preferred hotel for the Japanese Tourists.
As for desserts segment, Cititel Penang provides Christmas Pudding, Apple Tart, Ginger Bread, Yule Log, Eclaire, Brownies and many more colorful Christmas themed desserts.
