Thanks to Sunway Hotel, bae and I got to try out some of their highlights for the Chinese New Year 2019 promotion. But first thing first, we started our celebration with the Yee Sang with Salmon. This Yee Sang tossing can be added to the traditional Chinese 8-Course Set with only a small charge of RM100! Given it is such a big plate with pile of salmon, certainly worth it to kick starts to jolly year!
As usual, we started off with the soup to warm up our stomach. There were Chicken Soup and Sharkfin Soup for us to taste. Besides the soup, we also had some appetizers such as Sweet Chili Jelly Fish with Cilantro, Shredded Young Mango with Chili Honey Sauce and others, alongside an array of salads and condiments which were also available.
For the main courses, we had Deep Fried Butterfly Tiger Prawns with barbeque sauce, Chili Garlic Crab with Spring Onion, Chinese-style Roasted Chicken with Oriental Sauce, Steamed Whole Sea Bass with Nyonya Sauce and so on.
Best thing about the buffet at Sunway Hotel Penang is the availability of Roasted Duck! Both chicken and duck were available, but it was quite rare to see duck so I like it a lot especially paired with Hossien Sauce and Chilli Ginger Sauce.
We got to try out the Steamboat Dinner which will be available at Sunway Hotel Seberang Jaya too. Among all the ingredients available, I amazed with the offering of Slipper Lobsters, Tiger Prawns, Crabs and even Fish Maw, all ready to be cooked in Herbal Chicken and Tom Yam Soup.
Lastly, we ended our dinner with finest desserts, such as Creme Caramel, Strawberry Mousse Cake, Marble Cheese Cake and other delights. No worry, Chinese traditional dessert are available too which include assorted Chinese New Year cookies, Warm Longan with White Fungus, alongside with many other treats.
Given that there's 20% discount for in-house guest, that makes it worthwhile to stay there and celebrate the Chinese New Year without all the hassle of preparing and cleaning. On top of that, RM98 per pax consider quite cheap among all the hotels around the Georgetown! So if it suits to your liking/conditions, wait no more, book it now!
