Woohoo~~!! After so many months of waiting, finally, the food court, Queens Hall, in Queensbay Mall Penang is opened again! Darling and I have asked each other so many times, "Is the food court open yet?", especially those time we have no idea what to eat when we were in Queensbay Mall! So yeah, this is definitely a good news for us!
Queens Hall - New food court in Queensbay Mall |
Queens Hall features all the local Penang street food. This new food court is approximately 17,500 square feet and seats approximately 500 guests. That's definitely a good thing to cater all the workers in Bayan Lepas area, especially on Friday lunch time!
Queens Hall - Even with some of the famous brands |
Unlike the previous one, the new food court also sourced the operators from some of the Penang's famous street foods. So, good for the tourists too as now they could try Penang Road Famous Teowchew Chendul, Sin Nam Huat Chicken Rice and even Sukhothai in Queensbay Mall as well! For those staying in Bayan Lepas area like me, we no longer need to travel all the way up north to Georgetown to eat too! Hehe!
Queens Hall - Spacious with roughly 500 seats |
Queens Hall - Western Cuisine |
So here are the food that we tried! Starting with the Western Cuisine which located at the Room of Garden (Near to North Zone Entrance). It's good that there is another choice of Western Cuisine in Queens Hall as Nando's & Dave's Deli are always full on the Friday! So if you just want to satisfy your craving at a cheaper price, this is it!
Queens Hall - Grilled Trio Platter (RM25.35 w/ GST) |
The Grilled Trio Platter includes lamb, beef, sausage, mashed potato and veges. The platter was not bad, it's hard to fail with the black pepper sauce. Well, with that kind of price you could probably just get to pick one in other place! Their half roasted chicken was just RM13.90 exclusive of GST.
Queens Hall - Room of Garden with lots of flower pots |
Queens Hall - Claypot & Sizzling |
The next one would be the Claypot & Sizzling which located next to Western Cuisine at Room of Garden as well. If you need something hot in the cold weather, this would be the right choice! They got a wide range of selection from rice to yee mee for both claypot and sizzling hotplate.
Queens Hall - Claypot Special (RM9.90) |
Of course we had some other food as well!
Queens Hall - Tandoori Chicken Set (RM12) |
A standard Tandoori Chicken Set with quarter chicken, roti naan, curry gravy and mint sauce! It's a branch from Karaikudi Restaurant in Georgetown that serves the best of both North and South Indian cuisine. I already have a plan in mind to try their Chicken 65 and garlic naan in my next visit!
Queens Hall - Sukhothai Beef Noodle Soup (RM13.65) |
Another outlet for the Thai Delight branch of Sukhothai which is famous for their Beef Noodle Soup. If you take beef like I do, then you should really try this! Unfortunately I find the small cutlets of beef were not enough for a big eater like me! I guess that's their strategy to keep you coming for more!
Queens Hall - Char Koay Teow (RM9.90) |
Queens Hall is really a place that could let the shoppers enjoy all the local favorites in one place! Char Koay Teow is among all the food available there that I would not mind eating again and again. With that two big fat prawns and the egg, the Char Koay Teow taste so appetizing! Yeah I know it's fattening, but just like the saying goes.. "Fat food no good, good food no fat!"
Queens Hall - Chili Pan Mee Dry (RM6.90) |
Queens Hall - Chili Pan Mee Soup (RM6.90) |
I believe this is one of the nice and cheaper food in Queensbay Mall. We tried both dry and soup for the Chili Pan Mee and I personally prefer the soup one! Dry Chili Pan Mee was a bit too salty because of the chili and the anchovies. Anchovies was crispy, soft boiled egg and together with the hot chili soup makes a heart warming food!
Queens Hall - Egg Tart |
Queens Hall - Stewed Papaya with White Fungus (RM4.50) |
Personally, I think the new food court is more neat, spacious and comfortable compare to the old one whereby you have to turn here and there. Oh not forgetting that now their cleaners are much more efficient where by they will clean your table once you are done. We are really glad that Queens Hall is open again as we will have a lot of alternative to look for food!
