Eastin Hotel Penang is coming out with their new theme buffet lunch "Wonderful Indonesia" to welcome August! This buffet lunch will be available from 1st - 31st August 2015 on weekdays from 12 pm to 2.30 pm. Malaysian are quite familiar with Indonesian cuisine, many would confused with Malay cuisine, are you able to differentiate them? Well, let me show you the highlight of Indonesian cuisines at Eastin Hotel Penang.
Wonderful Indonesia Buffet
Top: Nasi Goreng Ikan | Beef Rendang Jawa Bottom: Pecel Lele (Fried Catfish) | Perkadel (Fried Patties) |
I love Croquette! Perkadel is Indonesian fried patties similar to Croquette made with potatoes, minced meat, and corn. Perkadel is one of our favourite dishes of this buffet, it is deep fried into golden brown colour with soft texture and full of flavour.

Nasi Goreng Ikan is Indonesian style fish fried rice, it has a good texture and flavour, I think it is still worth my stomach space for buffet :D However, if you prefer Nasi Putih or white rice, there will be available too.

Satay Ayam is a very popular delicacy in Indonesia. It is chicken skewer which best served with special spicy peanut sauce. Their Satay Ayam was grilled into perfection, it was juicy and well-marinated.

Sayur Lontong dengan Sambal Ikan Bilis is assorted vegetables cooked with coconut milk, traditional spices and lontong (rice cake). This is a very authentic Indonesian cuisine, it was special in taste and go well with a bowl of rice.

Eastin Hotel Penang is serving 2 types of Traditional Indonesian Soups. Bakso is chicken meatball soup served with noodles while Buntut Soup is Oxtail soup cooked with assorted vegetables. I personally kinda fancy their Bakso, although I don't usually like clear soup.

Okay, how could you skip Indonesian dessert right? Es Teler is Indonesian fruit cocktail made with avocado, coconut meat, jackfruit served with coconut milk. It was creamy yet the sweetness was just right to our liking, a refreshing dessert indeed.

Another must-try dessert is Pisang Goreng dengan Coklat dan Keju. The chef has added some new elements into the traditional Pisang Goreng or Deep fried banana, it is served with cheese and chocolate! I was surprised that it actually taste good, the bananas were deep fried into perfection with the crunchiness on the outer layer and soft inside.
