Tokkuri Hana Japanese Restaurant, another one after Shunka (read here) that we went! As you may guess, we found it through the wonder Google too. Tokkuri Hana located at Prima Tanjung Business Centre, which is quite far away from our house, but thankfully we were being told that they will have one Tokkuri Tei in Ayer Itam too.
Tokkuri Hana Japanese Restaurant - Entrance with a lot of chochin (lantern) |
Tokkuri Hana Japanese Restaurant located at ground floor facing inside, so it is quite obvious to see once you drive around Prima Tanjung Business Centre. Parking was okay as you can park it anywhere along the road, just make sure you put up the parking coupon.
Tokkuri Hana Japanese Restaurant - Looks spacious for Japanese Restaurant |
We went on a weekday which was around 6.30pm so there were not many people, but we were being greeted warmly and shown to our seats immediately. They are very thoughtful as we were being told to sit further inside as the seating under the air cond could be very cold as there were not many people yet. And you know, to me, customer experience is almost everything, so great impression right away!

Tokkuri Hana Japanese Restaurant - Shake Aburi Mentai Roll (RM26) |
Since it was just the two of us, we could only ordered 2 dishes. And as usual, we started with the Shake Aburi Mentai Roll, whereby the baked salmon rolled with tuna cucumber and served with Cod fish roe sauce. I supposed the Cod fish roe is the one that makes it expensive. But the portion was quite big even just for the two of us. (Thankfully they advised us beforehand so that we did not "over-order") What I like about Tokkuri Hana Japanese Restaurant's Mentai Roll was the roll was grilled with flame gun and hence the appetizing smell from the Mentai.
Tokkuri Hana Japanese Restaurant - Tokkuri Hana Bento Set (RM58) |
We ordered another specialty of theirs, namely Tokkuri Hana Bento Set which the photo was widely spread across all social medias and newspapers. So of course we would try it as well since it is the chef special bento set which consists of salmon, oyster, unagi, tako, tempura, miso soup and cawanmushi. Again, another huge portion that we ended up feeling so full after the meal. Most noteworthy among all were the crispy tempura, the fresh succulent oyster as well as the ever-tempting unagi!
Tokkuri Hana Japanese Restaurant - Must-take-top-down-photo |
Given the location,we have already expected the higher price, relatively, so once in a while indulged into such a meal would still be acceptable in the dictionary of #YourFinanceDoctor. (LIKE US HERE!) During our dinner there, we saw a few Japanese there enjoying their meals too, so I supposed Tokkuri Hana Japanese Restaurant is up to the standard even for Japanese. So you should really give it a try too!
