Vangohh Eminent Hotel And Spa Grand Opening

Henry Tan | 7:54 AM | | | | 19 Comments so far
Vangohh Eminent Hotel & Spa is officially opened now in Bukit Mertajam, Penang! Bae and I got the opportunity to be invited to their grand opening dinner on 7th December 2018.

Vangohh Eminent Hotel & Spa Grand Opening

Vangohh Eminent is a luxury five star hotel and spa inspired by art, lifestyle and romance, offers both locals and tourists an inspired place to stay while enjoying enjoying the tranquility and fantastic view of the Bukit Mertajam Hill.

It was on a rainy Friday evening that bae and I drove all the way from Penang island to Bukit Mertajam, which took us about 2 hours journey thanks to the busy traffic after work. Thankfully there was a hotel transit car to fetch us from outdoor carpark directly to the hotel lobby.

The event started with opening performance, then followed with opening speech by the founder of Vangohh Eminent, Dato Seri Goh Choon Kim, as well as the opening ceremony officiated by our Penang chief minister, Chow Kon Yeow. 👏👏👏

Personally, I think one of the highlight of the day has to be the speech by Dato Seri where he expressed his gratitude to his wife for supporting him throughout the years and then followed by a kiss. Soooo sweeeet! 😍😍😍

Overall, Vangohh Eminent Hotel & Spa is really super duper grand, bae and I were absolutely amazed by their impressive interior designs, even though we just get to see the lobby and the escalator towards their grand hall since we were rushing to the dinner. But we definitely looking forward to check out their 5 stars rooms and facilities soon!

Have you been there? What do you think?

Do check out the Youtube video below!

Tiger STREATS Party @ Hin Bus Depot, Penang

Henry Tan | 6:18 PM | | | 3 Comments so far
Thanks to Tiger's invitation, baby and I spent a wonderful night at Tiger STREATS, a unique street food experience from Tiger Beer, which take its culinary delights on the road this March in both Penang & Johor. Penangites got the chance to sample numerous Malaysian creative street food mashups, all washed down with ice cold Tiger brews.

Tiger STREATS was being held at Hin Bus Depot, Penang, which is a popular place that is suitable for party. As usual, we were being welcomed by the pretty Tiger ambassadors that were posing at the entrance. Long legs with short skirts, that's definitely a good start for a great party night. 😁

The Tiger STREATS party started at 5pm until 11pm while admission is open to non-Muslims over the age of 18. Our tickets came together with a couple of FREE Tiger beer vouchers and food vouchers. These vouchers were being sold on the spot at the event itself too.

A total of 14 one-of-a-kind creative street food, from Curry Flavor Waffles, Cempedak Ice Cream to Kimchi Goreng, the options were more than enough to tantalize anyone's taste buds. We had some ribs, skewers, as well as the noodles. But nothing better than pairing those food with Tiger beers.

During the Tiger STREATS party night, we get to choose the original Tiger Beer, Tiger Radler and Tiger White. Of course, we tried all of them, and baby and I preferred Tiger Radler the most! Tiger Radler is actually Tiger Beer with extra freshness from the lemon juice and lower alcohol percentage. So if you are not to fond of alcohol, Tiger Radler would be a good choice!

On top of those delicious dishes to sample, Tiger STREATS also prepared some retro-inspired games, experiential activity as well as live band performance from great local artistes. We were having fun playing the Tikam game in order to exchange for small gifts. Barry and I also had some playful moment with the Ping Pong game except that we were using kitchen utensils as bat!

Tiger STREATS party received great response from the crowds, same like us, many enjoyed themselves at the party. We certainly look forward for this event to be held annually at different places all over Malaysia.

Till then. ;)
Happy partying!

Unboxing Lazada Box of Joy

Henry Tan | 11:47 PM | Be the first to comment!
Everybody love surprises and curiosity killed the cat. When both of these combined, you get Lazada Box of Joy! I know the concept of mystery box for a while but I never really get myself one mainly because they are mostly beauty products for girls. So Lazada really caught me off guard by sending me this lovely Box of Joy and, literally, I felt joy tremendously

Let's UNBOX together!

When I received the parcel, I was so curious like a little kid trying to open his birthday gift and so eager to find out what is inside. (Thankfully I didn't do a Vlog otherwise you will see me tearing the parcel apart!) Surprise, surprise! Unlike the usual mystery box that full of beauty products, Lazada Box of Joy actually consists of anything and everything

This is what I like about Lazada Box of Joy, you don't have to be a girl to like it. Starting with the cool gadget - SanDisk ULTRA Dual Drive m3.0 with 64GB, any guys would love this! My smartphone got only 16GB storage size, so you can tell how much I needed this without having to transfer out all my photos to PC frequently anymore.

Definitely come in handy when we go for vacation.
Get yourself one too! Click here.

If you read I Blog My Way frequently, you would know that yours truly cooks, just like the saying "进得了厨房,出得了厅堂!". HAHAHAHA! So the next thing that attracts me the most would be the Tefal Manual Chopper. You see when I was young, dicing red onion was a nightmare especially during festive season when my mum need a lot of it for cooking. This Tefal Manual Chopper could have been my life saver with just a few easy pull and without tears!

It should have existed in all kitchen!
Including yours! Get it here!

Girls will always be girls. They attracted to cute things. Yes, I'm talking about this cute little panda soft toy that got my baby's attention. Very adorable isn't it? Speaking of which, you can use this voucher code "IMPANDA" to enjoy RM10 off with minimum purhcase of RM40.

Basically these are all inside the Lazada Box of Joy. I am quite busy recently as it is towards the end of the year whereby many of #YourFinanceDoctor's clients would start to plan for 2017.

Which explains why so far the only thing that we have tried are all food, the latest Maggi OatMee and the Nescafe White Coffee Panda Flavor. It reminds me one of my old post - Maggi Milo Mee that I used to try. Just that this time it is Maggi OatMee, in which the mee is made of oat. So here's my verdict - the mee looks darker, taste as usual but texture wise softer. (Based on one packet review)

I usually cook 2 packets, so I have to buy more first!
You should try it here!

For the Nescafe White Coffee Pandan flavor, some may find it peculiar but to me it was unique with the fragrance. Parents were not too fond of it as older generation tends to stick to the norm. But for young generation (especially outliers like me! :p), I find it interesting! Just like the Lemongrass Coffee we tried in Doi Chaang Caffe. So like what they always said...

Never try never know. Sekali cuba, hari-hari mau!
Buy yourself one too! Click here.

Stay tuned for more upcoming review on all the other products once we have try it out. In the mean time, enjoy shopping online!

Till then. ;)
Happy shopping!

Volunteer Briefing @ SPCA Penang, Jelutong

Henry Tan | 1:11 PM | | 4 Comments so far
The third Saturday of November, baby and I attended the Volunteer Briefing at SPCA Penang. It is a monthly event for new volunteers to get to know the shelter. I used to be a volunteer as well as a fosterer in SPCA Selangor back then during university, so perhaps it's time to contribute to SPCA Penang too!

SPCA Penang - Cute and Friendly Doggie is available for adoption

SPCA Penang - Exterior

SPCA Penang located in Jelutong, quite easy to locate using Waze or even Google Map. We were there right before 9am as the volunteer briefing starts from 9am to 11am. Since SPCA Penang is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) with limited resources, there aren't many helpers around. You can either press the bell or simply just slide the gate and let yourself in.

SPCA Penang - Office

Be sure to walk in the office and greet the friendly SPCA Administrator, Lily or Gogela, so that they know you are there. There is a volunteer log book as well, do remember to check in and check out. For new volunteer, you may sign up yourself in the volunteer membership form.

SPCA Penang - Simple Presentation by Lily

The volunteer briefing started with a simple presentation by Lily, the SPCA Administrator. A basic introduction on what is SPCA and what SPCA does. Besides, we were being brief on all the activities that can be done by volunteers at the SPCA which include bathing to socializing with the animals. Outside of the shelter, you can also contribute in helping out the fund raising activities, promote SPCA merchandise, promote the work of SPCA (especially in adoption) and many more!

SPCA Penang - Briefing on how to socialize with the animal

The assistant administrator of SPCA Penang, Gogela brought us to tour around and guided us on how to socialize with the animal. We learned a lot about some basics of socializing and shaping good behavior for the dogs.

SPCA Penang - Its time to have a walk

After that, all of us could start the activities by taking out the dog and socialized with them. Most of the dogs were so excited to have visitors because probably they know they might be the lucky one to be adopted. They shake their tails and jumping in joy just to get the attention, just like any baby or children would do in order to get the attention of their parents.

SPCA Penang - Volunteers Group Photo with dogs

To be honest, I got to know that the adoption rate in SPCA Penang is quite low whereby it could be just a few dogs get adopted in a month. The awareness of adoption in Penang definitely is still not enough yet as many still buy from pet shop. Worse of all, some irresponsible owners even abandon them when they are sick or old. So there are so much we can do to help!

So once again, I would like to urge all of you to adopt, don't buy! Do remember to neuter your pets too if you don't intend to take care all of their babies. Besides, spaying your pet before her first heat offers the best protection from those malignant diseases. Neutering your male companion prevents testicular cancer and some prostate problems too.

STOMP 2011 @ Plenary Hall, KLCC

Henry Tan | 11:55 PM | | | 1 Comment so far
Okay, let me guess.
Your first question would be...

"What's STOMP?"

"STOMP is unique musical theatre of choreographed percussion, movement and physical comedy, with shows worldwide. "

Okay, perhaps pictures will be better.

Yup! They are superb! =DD

I went there to work as usher! =D

The ushers. =D

One of the task: Stand there welcome people! XD

See! Got me = got crowds! LOL =X

The merchandise counter.

Selling all these. *expensive* =.=
Programme : RM30
Cap : RM25
Lanyard : RM15
T-Shirt : RM50

 The stage. =D

Well, no one can actually take photos or record video of the performance.
So too bad, can't share with you all how awesome it is~!!!
And one good thing of being the crew....

Can take group photos with all of them! =D

During my 2 days of part time, I get to watch 4 shows in total!
And guess what, the ticket isn't cheap at all!
Cheapest student price also RM78! =S
So yeah, kinda worth to work there! =DDD

Well, and so they continue their world tour.
Hopefully when they come back again, I will be rich enough to go. =p
